PRESENT

When a plaza mid wood neighborhood icon - John’s Country Kitchen - decided to shut their doors and the owners of Coaltranes capitalized on the opportunity. Cobalt worked with Hood Architecture and the Owner to optimize the old, crumbling space that was only partially occupied, and using creative engineering, turned the space into two stories of dining and a rooftop bar and dining area.

THE MIDWOOD EXPERIENCE

Think of this former streetcar suburb as the intersection where eclectic creativity meets traditional Southern values. On one block, you’ll find historic homes and office spaces beneath a canopy of century-old trees; on the next, graffiti-covered consignment shops selling second-hand goods.

From breweries to book shops to BBQ joints and beyond, it’s safe to say that Plaza Midwood has a little something for everyone.
